When using websites you will need to determing whether or not a particular resource fits the requirements of your assignment.
To evaluate a website, use the following criteria:
Authority
1.What type of organization published this site? (.edu, .gov, .org, .com).
Accuracy
1.Who wrote the page?
2.Is the author an expert in this field.
3.Can you contact him/her?
4.What is the purpose of the website? Why was it produced?
5.Look for links
that say "Who we are" or "About this site".
Currency
1.When was the page created.
2.When was the page last updated.
3.Do the links on the page work.
Coverage
1.Do the links lead to other reputable sites.
Objectivity
1.View any webpage as an infomercial. Always ask, why was this written and for whom.
2.Is the information factual, opinion or propaganda?
3.Is advertising clearly differentiated from the informational content?
