SJC Faculty Small Grants

Applications for Faculty Development Small Grants are due by March/November 15Application forms are available on the portal (Faculty and Staff, Faculty/Staff Resources), and should be sent to Linda Ryan (lryan@sjcny.edu) electronically. 

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:

  • The maximum grant will be $750
  • All reports and RFDs with receipts must be submitted to the VPAA's office within 6 weeks of the event.

All faculty who are involved in research or are working on book projects are encouraged to apply for small grants, up to $750, to support projects in the area of faculty development.  The program is intended for projects not ordinarily covered by the department budget.  Possibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • attendance at workshops for the purpose of presenting research (ordinarily, support for conferences is provided when the faculty member is presenting a paper or participating in some way);
  • or publication costs,
  • travel,
  • or purchases of special materials.  

A committee (consisting of the Vice Presidents for Academic Affairs and the Chairperson or representative of the Committee on Promotion and Awards) reviews the proposals each semester.  Prior to submission, the application must be reviewed and endorsed by the Department Chairperson, and where applicable, by the Associate Chairperson.

Institutional Review Board

All projects involving human participants must receive IRB approval.
