Submitting a Print Request

There are multiple ways to submit a 3D printing request:

  1. Fill out a form and leave your USB at the circulation desk.
  2. Submit online form located below
  3. Email Submission – Files 25MB or less can be sent via email to: Callahan3dprinting@sjny.edu. Include the following information:
  • Name
  • Phone Number
  • SJNY email address
  • Preferred Contact Method
  • File Name
  • Is this 3D project for a class?  If yes, provide professor name, course number and project due date
  • Did you design the model yourself?  If no, please provide a link to the file so that we can review Creative Commons Copyright
  • Model Color (Please provide two choices from the list)
  • Additional Comments

Minimum turnaround time is 2-3 business days after confirmation of estimated cost. 

Projects submitted for a course assignment will have priority in the printing schedule.

Printing Cost:   

Set Up Fee: $2

Cost per gram: $.25

(Excessive print time$.50 per half hour over one hour)      

Scanner Use:

The 3D scanner will be available by appointment only.  There will be a $10 service fee to create a scanned item.  Be aware that Federal Copyright and Patent & Trademark Laws govern what may or may not be copied.  Requests may be denied at the discretion of the library staff.  We reserve the right to deny a scan request for any reason.
